Praying Mantis

This fella hopped out of the bushes as i was mowing my lawn near some bushes yesterday. I never seen one in person. I scooped him up and put him on a near-by tree out of harms way from the mower. Not sure what type it is or if its male or female..

Your splendtid Praying Mantis close-ups make clear that this is a dangerous predator. It looks ready to grab anything within reach.

Perhaps the Walking Stick, which I filmed in Costa Rica, would be appropriate prey, if it shares any environment with the Mantis.

I thought the Walking Stick had "Eat Me" written all over it. But it does walk, which made for great video.
