Haha as I've mentioned, a turkey decided to lay eggs in our field. We found them one night after camping out there. So 23-27 days later they hatched! I'm not sure whether the eggs didnt hatch, whether they were carried off by predators, or whether the babies got killed when they were young, but nonetheless, there is still 1 alive, and it's following its mother around the backyard. My friend and I decided to name the mom Pook and it's child is Pook Jr. He can now fly, and flew up into a tree when I got too close. They're so sneaky I didn't see him hiding in the grass.
really not the greatest picture since it was cropped pretty heavily and shot at ISO 800, handheld with a 300 2.8 and 1.4x, but a good documentation of it! He's less than a week old!

The turkey population here has exploded. They're all over the place. even downtown. I'm thinking we need a second Thanksgiving
