    Pintails (I think), and an eagle

    Taken this evening near an ocean beach.

    Wow! Nice job.
    I really enjoy photographing ducks and waterfoul in their natural habitat. The Pintail is one of my favorites.
    I can never get that close.

    Female Mallards and Pintails look a lot alike. I can't tell unless I see their feet. Orange vs Black

    Very nice shots Alex, I like that first one. It has nice composition and a different pose than usually seen.

    Pentails? Maybe you meant "penciltails"?

    I'm not sure if it is a mallard, just posted in the bird ID thread.

    These are all cropped shots, and have been post-processed to some extent. But I did get within a few metres away, crouching through the grass and hiding behind natural terrain humps. #1 was from a bridge.

    Great pictures, I love how there is not a ripple from the ducks in the first shot. They are almost floating above the water...

    That's a pintail hen Mallard hens have an orange bill and blue wing speculum. :thumbsup:
