    WOW great shots, there is a Pileated Woodpecker near my house that I have been trying to get for most of the year everytime I see him he is either on the wrong side of the tree or fly's away as soon as I get near. I have not seen or heard him in a few weeks hope he is still around.

    Thanks for all the kind comments, sitting as still as possible in sub zero temps was hard but this fellow made it worth while. These birds are usually so shy, being able to watch this bird up close was a real treat.
