Re: Pictures of Hong Kong scenery

Welcome. I find all three interesting. The first could benefit by having less of that flat, uninteresting sky. An almost square crop looks really good to me. I like the zigzag composition of lines through the scene.

I think the third could use a levels adjustment to brighten it up and leveling the horizon. These are minor points and I think your shots are fine.

These are the least "cluttered by by buildings and people" shots of Hong Kong that I have seen. Thanks for a fresh look.

Welcome Poohtim, Very nice photos. I can not really offer anything that Chunk didn't already tell you. But, I am a new photographer as well and want to give you encouragement. I think you have a very good technique and with some slight adjustments, your photos could be fantastic.
    Great Job,

I pretty much have to just echo the general consensus. Nice, but definite room for improvment.

Welcome, poohtim, to PR. I think you will find this a very wonderful "home" for you.

I agree with the others in that your pics are good, but there is room for improvement. I like all three images, but 2 and 3 don't do as much for me and I think it is because of the vertical format. These are just two images I would much rather see in a horizontal format because I think they would do better. I do like both images and the feel of them.

You have to take all of the advice/critique and find what works for you, though. Hope to see more of your stuff here.
