These are nice OldClicker. I like the 1st one more for the colours and background. Also it looks sharper.

Double nice job since these were taken with a 100mm lens!

A 100mm lens, that's amazing! I wish focus had been on the eye in the second as it's got some great colours and it's wonderful with the branch with the wee pimk buds on it. First one is pretty good with nice sharpness and bokeh but the sawn-off branch right behind the tail is a little distracting. But looks like some great potential around your feeder so I hope to see more soon!

Those are really nice OC. I wonder why they call them cowbirds?

They can be often found alongside and on cattle, feeding on insects that the animals stir up.

    Re: A pair of cowbirds...

I'm surprised. We have quite a few of them in N Illinois. They come in with the flocks of blackbirds (RWBB, Grackles, Starlings, etc.) and then one or two pair stick around the yard. They don't build nests of their own, the just lay their eggs in another species nest. The cowbird chicks grow faster than the others and eventually starve them and kick them out (brood parasitic). - TF
