    Re: Our owls

Glad to see burrowing owls are still around. On cape coral they seem to have been wiped out or forcably removed so I have found over the last 6 years.

Great images and thanks for sharing.

Thx, They are not tame but theyre used to us ...the same owls will come back to the same burrow year after year and theyre protected so once they decide to dig a hole in your yard you have owls season after season. These are in a neighbors yard.

    Beautiful images.

And if they are around season after season I am willing to bet that they are better neighbors than people hehe. At least you know the local rat/mouse population will be kept in check nicely.

    Re: Our owls

Though protected, people still remove them. I witnessed a guy digging up a burrow on cape coral and imediately called the police ;) Also hurricanes a few years ago seem to have killed a bunch too. When Ding Darling got wiped out, so did the surrounding areas and Cape Coral's owls seem to have disappeared shortly after.

That first image, with the lighting, is excellent, Jenny.

Such beautiful subjects so close to home. Hope to see more here soon.
