    Osprey chicks...day 13

    well...down to (2) - Osprey chicks now, seems something took the smaller chick out! There is one aggressive chick in the nest (see photo below) and i believe he took the smaller chick out!

    Eric great images as usual...I agree with the others...that second image is a wall hanger for sure...

    You are probably right about the one chick doing the other in - that does happen - more often than we might think, but that is the "way of the wild" as the more aggressive one tends to get more food than the other(s) and sometimes the less aggressive one(s) simply starve to death - the parents don't seem to know what is going on, they just offer the food out and the aggressive ones get the meal...
