    Orlando Eagles Nest Down :(

    http://www.wesh.com/news/22312718/detail.html

I was planning on going to check it out this weekend also. I know Eric will be sad about this!

I have to say I am sorry about this, nature is harsh. I hope they build a new nest close by.

What a shame, I will have to go by later today and see what is going on. I was just there the day before the tree fell and snapped a few shots of what are apparently the last pics I will get of this pair of Eaglets.

Going to the other nest this morning, I know it survived the storm, how it did I wonder because that nest is in a dead tree, which amazes us all it still stands.
Sad day for me, the were like family

We had a local nest with eaglets in it blow down a few years ago. It was a sad day, but that's the way nature is. The eagles did stick around and had a new nest and hatched more eaglets the following year.

    Wow that sux

The Eagles are not showing up around here this year, There are 2 nests by the croton reservior and they both look abandoned. So far from West Nyack NY north to Newburgh only 14 adults and 4 juveniles have been spotted, last year there were over 60 in that area.

That's too bad. Hopefully the parents will relocate nearby.
