    Not wild but wonderful!

These two young otters which were at a sanctuary i visited could of kept me there all day!

The little male otter found a stone and played with it like a child with a toy, lying on his back and rolling it across his chest, then juggling it in the air, then he would find a feather to amuse himself with.

They were extremely happy and kept in an excellent facility (although nothing is like the wild) they were only here through mans greed and no respect for wildlife.

Otters are very smart and inquizative! They love to amuse themselves by playing all day so it seems. Some day I would love to go to the pantanal(south america) and see the giant river otters that live there! Nice images , you captured the moment quite well.

Bev trains otters too I see! Nice photos, love the 'poses' in the the first and last pics.

I've always liked otters a lot, but with a couple of exceptions, seem to always have dodgy lighting whether at a preserve or in the wild. Nice work as usual.

After sitting and watching these guys for a couple of hours its made me even more determined to plan a trip to the Shetland Isles in Scotland to see them in the wild.

    Re: Not wild but wonderful!

Well, My full time job is doing treework again(stopped 5 years ago), but my PT has been their photog for about 16 months. I come and go basicly as I please, but only get 10-15 paid jobs a year(spring mostly). I do it more as a favor to my friend than anything else.
