    Newborn Fawns

These two fawns were born at my house about 3 months ago. I watched the Doe give birth to them, under my deck for the third year in a row. In the first two pictures they are 4 hours old. Sorry about the terrible image quality. It was before I bought my my SLR. Next year I promise better pictures. I plan on takeing pictures of the birth as well if she is still around. The Doe will now come up to me, as a dog would. I have never fed her, just observed. It took five years to gain her trust. I never thought I would be able to call a wild deer and have it run up from the woods at me like she does. She stays around my property from April until October like clockwork. When the snow comes, she retreats to lower ground. The same is with the Buck. It was a little more nerve racking gaining his trust. Especially seeing as the first time I finally got him to walk up to me was during rutting season.Nature at it's best!!

I took these a couple days ago. Unfortunatly one of the fawns did not make it. Second year in a row. But it's great to see that one of them did.
