New Subject Found

These guys are harder than birds to get close to. They have fantastic vision.

I was only able to get to about 30' from them. They would dive, I would move closer, they woud surface somewhere else, argh

Anyway, new subject found.

haha... yeah turtles are hard to get close to.....usually.

I find if you get there early of on a cooler day they are less apt to bail and bask far past the safety zone has been crossed. You can always sit still for awhile close to a known basking spot(log) and wait ;)

Thanks for the tip! Its been cooler than normal lately so perhaps an early morning ambush will be that much more successful.

I'll wear some waterproof pants and sit on the bank awhile and see what I can come up with.
