    Nature Center Bucks and Yearlings

There had to be 15-20 of them. Grazing at the picnic area next to the recycling center.

I have a shot of this buck from fall with a full rack. He makes the best expressions. I feel like he's saying, "Give me a freaking break and quit gawking"

    Yearlings

Looks like this one's going to be a buck.

This was the bloody yearling I posted shots of last week. Seeing more of her injuries this week, I wonder if she may have been hit by a car. She does seem to be healing well though, and isn't lame at all.

I was really surprised to see this guy still had his rack.

Trying to split the 5000000000 shots of mine into different threads, so I'll have one for the does as well.

    Hi CaraRose,
    Beautiful shots.
The deer in my area have started to shead their winter coats so they are looking pretty scruffy.

I have a couple questions if you don't mind?
Were these taken with the new 50-500mm rented lens?
Which lens did you use for the buck with antlers?
    And one final question, sorry.
I see you removed the EXIF data files from these images.
Would it be too much to ask to include the focal length and f-stop value?
The reason I asked is it would really help me see the DOF results from those settings.
My biggest concern of owning a 500mm is the shallow DOF. From what I see in your photos that is not a concern.

I can't thank you enough for sharing your new lens review. I am already drulling(sp?)
over the possibilities of owning a 500mm.

I didn't remove the EXIF data. I just linked these from Flickr... maybe Flickr doesn't keep it with their resizes directly.. I'll edit my original post to include a link to the original photo page. Flickr has all the EXIF data for the shot once you click the "more properties" link.

Unfortunately I didn't get the 50-500mm till the afternoon, after I got back from the center. I think for the most part these were my 300mm f4 L , 300mm f4 L with a 1.4x TC, and the Canon 24-105 L.

I went to the lagoons today in the snow with the 50-500. Not sure how those will turn out, the waterfowl was uncooperative... I think I'm too used to urban wildlife to sneak up on anything skittish . I'll try and get those up later. I also included some of my "play around the yard" shots in the 'got my rental bigma' thread, in case you haven't seen
