Name of this bird.

Many times when I am out I see birds whose name I don't know. I hope many of you birders will post some of your nice bird photos and along with it tell us the name of the bird and it will help many of us learn the names of your favoirte birds.

I will start with a few of my favorites.

This is the Gray Jay, also known as a Camp Robber.



This one is the Western Tanager



And here's the female in that species.



This one is the Clark's Nutcraker



And the Western Scrub Jay



And the Flicker Woodpecker



Post some of your favorite birds and their names, or if you have a photo of a bird whose name you don't know, post it and I am sure someone will be able to give you the name.

In fact here's a bird whose photo I took, but I have not a clue what its called. Can anyone name this one?

Hi BB-- there's actually a bird ID thread sticky at the top of the forum for people asking for bird IDs. It's the best place to post that last shot. Paul's the resident expert and he checks that thread a lot.

And to be more specific on that Northern Flicker, it's also the western variant red shafted Around my area the Northern Flickers are yellow shafted..
