    My version of spring.

Spring in chicagoland means two things.

    1) getting out in the field to see snakes and salamanders.

    2) snakes and salamanders will be out in the field.

Best I can tell, it is very lucky that those two occur sympatrically. Here's a couple shots from yesterday's beautiful weather. Still getting used to shooting with a DSLR, so please forgive the techinical issues. It's tough to relearn equipment.

    Re: My version of spring.

Great mood images! I love the lighting in the first salamander shot and the curves/lines in the first snake image.

I assume you're loving your macro lens? Seems like an ideal fit for your shooting style and subjects.

I hope to join a salamander hunt tomorrow evening (if the weather clears up). I have 3 new "secret weapons" to try out

    Re: My version of spring.

    Thanks Loupey!

The sky was overcast but bright, good conditions for photography. being with 2 herp photo virgins, I mostly just stood back and let them shoot. It really made me appreciate the 4/3 system when they both strapped on 200mm IS lenses, which were easily a foot long and weighed 10 lbs. The wonderful 50mm f/2 macro is smaller than the kit lens, although it does weigh a bit more.

Can't wait to see these new "secret weapons" of yours...
