    My latest venture

Last weekend me and the mrs. made our way back up to the Dells area. Unfortunately we got up there a day after Mike (mjs1973) was in the area. Here are the highlights from the trip which was filled with alot of miles and alot of hiking - seems like all hikes were uphill.

the first 3 shots are from a place called Durwards Glenn - privately owned but open still to the public. Mike had told me about this place the last time I was in the area but didn't have time to get there. Now its a place I will visit every time I get up there. AMAZING AREA!

This next one is from a place called Parfrey's Glenn - State DNR area, stopped in there last time and was great place - beautiful hike back to it. We seen an owl on our way back there - snapped off a few shots but nothing great. The water was flowing much better than the first time there. I had on about 5-6 stops of nd filter and my polarizer, so about a 30 sec exposure.

Then off to Devils Lake state park. Hiked the west bluffs this time. Unfortunately the color was not there just yet, seemed to be spotty in the area - when you were in it, the colors just exploded, but when you weren't it was just green.

Then off to our favorite place Pewits Nest. Not sure what I had on for ND filters here. I know it was a longer exposure. Polarizing filter to get the blue water. Submitted this shot to my photo club monthly contest and won again (back to back months ! )
Ever get into the dells area DO NOT MISS THIS AREA !!!

Lastly we stopped at another place that Mike pointed us towards Gibralter Rock. It says a .3 mile hike up a slight hill. YEA RIGHT ! The hill was like a 45 degree angle - was a crazy hike to the top at the end of the day and all the hiking we had done already. got up there and the view was just breathtaking !!! The wife liked this tree and told me to take a shot of it, had to oblige so I didn't take the short way down

Great shots Ben! I wish I would have made it to Gibralter Rock when I was up there. Maybe next time. Hopefully I will have some of the pics from my trip ready to post soon. It's been a pretty crazy week around here...

    Beautiful!

Leaves are still not changing in my area and the few that are.. its more like they are just dropping dead because it has been so dry here. I am jealous!

Just great images Ben. I like the waterfalls best, but then I am a sucker for a good waterfall picture. I would be seriously thinking about framing the second one if it was mine.

    Cheers,

Mike - Gibralater Rock was well worth the stop, too bad the color wasn't full yet. Would of made for some awesome shots being that high up. The trees, as you can see, are quite "different". Very cool looking though whatever kind they are.

Amber - Thanks for the comments, thats too bad about the leaves in your area just dropping. I didn't get out much last year during fall, just seemed to of missed the whole season. This year I am getting out as much as I can.

Westernguy - Appreciate the kind words! I too am a sucker for waterfalls, always seem to be in my search for photo op's. I am floored that you say you would frame the 2nd shot, I like it but I prefer the 3rd one.
