    Mother and Daughter

Moderate to heavy rains kept me from doing much photography today, but I did venture out a couple times between rains. Here is a mother and daughter Cardinal pair that was out near my feeders in between storms. Nice thing about overcast days is the light! It's the best for this type of photography IMO. Trying to shoot Northern Cardinals (even the females) in the sun is a challenge for the best of photographers, but get them on a cloudy day, and it's really easy to keep the saturation in check:

You nailed them perfectly! Overcast and first 30 minutes of light is the photog gift from mother nature for sure.
