    Morning Turkey Vulture

    Well the Turkey Vultures are making thier way back. Caught this one in the early morning hours today (3/11).

    I too have been trying to get them in the air but it seems that whenever I make it to where they were, they have moved to were I was

    What I've learned so far about birding: one must PP in the field (PP = patience and persistence).

    of all the birds I shot on vcaaction I liked these guys the best. It helped that we we're staying right off a secondary hiighway so there was plenty of roadkill to keep them circling.

    Nice capture. You've got a lot of detail in the wing feathers even though the shadows are doing their best to eliminate those details. The head is nicely highlited from teh shadows so we can clearly see the red colourations. Good job.
