Manual exposure is the way to go. Understand light and understand how to control it and then you can shoot anywhere in any condition.

I do. My right index finger rotates the shutter control dial two to four clicks counterclockwise

don't take me wrong. I apsolutely love this image, but am not happy that I had no part in this choice after spending countless hours scanning the forum weekly.

We can't change it , nor would I even want to. It's definately worthy of the featured photo and I am not trying to take that away from you.

If you had a problem, you should have taken it privately to the admin or other mods.. As it is, you hurt my feelings. It was a big deal to me, myself and I. I even sent this link to many of my friends and relatives and you stole it from me...

I don't know if anyone here realizes how much time Paul and I spend reviewing every thread and image posted here. We also give a lot of thought and consideration for the featured photos every week.

Did no one notice that the featured photo did not get updated last week? Apparently there was a problem with the site and so the image that we had selected for last week's spot never got published. We didn't know if the problem was resolved this week either and so we didn't even have a FP picked out yet. Then, for a very short time (Tuesday I believe), I saw that last week's image, by Sushigaijin, was updated. So I figured that that image was going to be featured for this week. Then, a few hours later, the duck image appeared.

So we (Paul and I) are obviously confused and upset. I'm not sorry about that.

I had this forum started at my request and call me crazy, but feel it's my baby. I asked for a comod and requested Loupey and was happy he agreed to help.

Sorry to steal your thunder, that wasn't my intention. In hind site I see how I did indeed hurt your feelings and that wasn't my intention.

Sorry to see what's happening. I just hope that things will turn out well and nobody needs to quit or stay away. I believe everybody agrees that, regardless of whom did the selection, Javier, your photo deserved to be featured and it is staying.

Thanks AE, I appreciate your very kind words.... But the fact is that it is like barry bonds home run record. It is fake and as such, this blind squirrel will keep looking for an acorn...On a side note, I went to Santa Anita Race track to shoot some horses and my brand new Canon G9 was stolen today...But that does not bother me one bit, but this joke that was played on me still does and will for some time...

What "joke"? There is no joke - on the contrary!

Paul was man enough to apologize not once (I think 4 times) for his comments which were obviously mistaken as a personal attack.

The irony that is killing me is that Paul sent me a PM last Sunday telling me to look at this specific thread. But that may not matter to you.

As I state before, and for the last time, NO featured photo was selected by us for last week.
