    More Dang Owls

I'm a little tired of owls. It was my birthday on Thursday so I took Thursday and Friday off for bird photography. Thursday I went to the coast for Snowy Owls. Friday I went north about an hour for Short-eared Owls. Both were a success. Unfortunately I took about 3000 pictures. I'm beat. I'm having a hard time telling them apart.

So please feel free to comment on these. Which you like, which you hate, which can be processed or cropped better. I'm having a hard time looking at them anymore. I'll put 5 from each trip and I'll number them.

PS - Don't get me wrong, I had a blast and I'm not really tired of owls. Just tired.

#9 really grabs me, but they're all pretty good. At 5.6 that lens seems to have a very narrow DOF

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

Well done and being a birder I commend you on getting flight shots of curpuscular species in the day time.

Holy smokes - those in-flights are great! I've never seen Snowies but I have chased short-eared for a couple years now and you're way ahead of me. Keep posting

A bunch of the photos are missing. Did you move them or remove them from the original location?

I moved them and I was going to update the thread, but apparently you can't edit it after a few days.

those flight shots are absolutely amazing. Some pro photographer friends of mine have an owl shot similar that won a montana or wyoming state prize, but i think yours are even closer shots. I like 8 except for the yellow spot in the background.

Yeah, that's to keep people honest in case of flame wars. If you give me the URLs I will fix the links for you.

Difficult to pick a favorite here, but a great series. Congrats on the feature!
