Went out for a couple of hours today, but the birds were uninteresting and it is still too cold for good bugs. Here's a few that I came away with, nothing spectacular.

Anyone have an ID on this bird? Kingbird?



And we all know this one. These shots are making me take a serious look at the 70-300 that just came out. I just can't get close enough, at high enough quality, with the 40-150 and 1.7x tcon. And, the bokeh is not great.



Was good to see a bug, even if it was just the most drab fly ever. This is a 7 mp crop from the 10 mp original. I need some tubes, this 1:1 stuff is boring.

Flipped on its back. I was trying to pose it on some greenery and it just locked up, as most of the bugs preferred the dark colored ground to the lighter plants. At 45f and sunny, I don't blame them.
