    Misty morning fishing

Not a great shot, but I like the mist coming off the water. I think we had a high temp of 1 degree below zero today, and the mist was really coming off the river.

    Re: Misty morning fishing

Hey, we did too. Heck, I even live in Hartland, WI. We must not live too close together though because I've never even heard of Mineral Point. Which part of the state is that in? I live about half an hour to the west of Milwaukee.
When I went down to the park today I tried snapping a couple of the mist rising from the river, but it was too cold to get picky and they didn't turn out so well. I was sprinting back to by car in under five minutes and my fingers and toes were turning numb.
You may not think so, but I think it's a great shot. It would've even been neat without the bird, but the crow really gives it a nice focal point. And I really like crows in general.

Edit- I just gave your gallery a two second glance and noticed the gorgeous falls, the great fox pics, and the moose. Those are pretty good too. You must live a lot farther north. We see fox around here but only very rarely. A month ago or so we had one running around chasing squirrels in our yard. Otherwise we mostly have deer, tons of squirrels, deer, possum, coons, and other smaller critters.
Do you have any bear pics (I love bears)? I didn't look through your gallery all the way, maybe I will when I have alittle more time. I don't think Hartland has as much wildlife/good scenery as up north.

    Hey Tommy,

The "crow" is actually a bald eagle. It's an immature eagle so it doesn't have the white head and tail yet. This was shot this morning in Prairie du Sac.

Mineral Point is actually in the south west corner of the state. I'm about 45 minutes from Madison. The fox photos in my gallery were taken just a few miles outside of town. The moose photo was taken in Grand Teton National Park this past summer. The waterfalls were taken around the Baraboo area.

excellent shot mike ! Our photoclub had our banquet tonight and one of the members mentioned that the fog was really rolling off lake michigan but he didn't have his camera with him. He went to get it and by the time he returned it had quit.

    Re: Misty morning fishing

Really? I live about an hour from Madison in the southeast. I bet we're about forty-five minutes apart. I've been to the Baraboo area a couple times, but they were for Boyscouts some years ago...
When it warms up a little bit I may have to take my camera down to the Scuppernong Springs. When we went down there in the summer it was beautiful. Ever been over there? It's near the Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit (yeah, in case that rings a bell >.>).
The fact that it is a bald eagle makes it even better. This last summer we had a bald eagle hanging around here for a while, but I never got to see it, unfortunately.

I have never heard of Scuppernong Springs, but I have been to Kettle Moraine one. It was many years ago tho.

If you go to Baraboo, let me know. I can point you in the direction of some nice photo ops.

    Re: Misty morning fishing

Perhaps we should start thinking about a south/central WI nature photo outing.
