    Re: Misc. nature

First let me say these are pretty damb good ;)

I know that the first(fledgling robin) and the last(mallard family... I see a male nonbreeding in there) were shot in the summer, so what were you shooting these with?

Images of nature aren't as easy as it looks are they.

(disclaimer)I find sports images to be quite hard at times too.

    Re: Misc. nature

    Thanks Paul

The lil fluffy robin had fallen from a tree. Some campers fed it worms for a few days then put it back in a tree and a day or two later they saw it fly off so it survived a while I guess.

The camera was my old 1D and the lens the Sigma 70-200. These were all before the new gear arrived.

    Re: Misc. nature

    Paul,

I am a bit upset with the county though. They allowed the property owner to remove the trees the frogs and turtles rested on in the shot below. Now the only way to get photos is on the shore line or in the water. I was there the other day but found absolutely nothing around...ARGH! We'll give it another week and see if anything shows up. Of course the ducks and geese are still around.
There are some huge turtles in this little river. The trick is finding them. I have some new areas to investigate that I found this winter, maybe I'll find something there.

    Re: Misc. nature

Well, removing debris from the water is quite common. Sure nature uses it, but it is an eye sore that brings the resale value of the propery down.
