    minesota wildlife

well my trip was short and sweet but the weather was so hot that even the fish went into hiding. 96 degrees today, 94 degrees yesterday... thank goodness we left the humidity in Ontario.

Here's a few of what was still moving around in the heat.

Striped gopher (that's what I was told their name was anyway)
Notice the size of the blade of gress in the frame with them. They are tiny little guys.

Not sure the species but I think it is a fly catcher of some sort

    and some dragonflies

    Thanks for looking.

Welcome back. Sounds like you had a good but hot trip.

That gopher looks to be chipmunk-size, but thinner.

    Nice bird shot.

    Thanks for sharing these.

See, we do have wildlife in MN. Nice shots. It looks like the fly catcher has some sort of fly in it's mouth. You're going to have to come to MN more often.

BTW, whereabouts in MN were you?

Henning. About 35 min from Fargo ND. We drank our faces off at a small pub in Henning called Chegan's Pub and crawled back to my friends house on Friday night. Saturday was the hottest day I have ever felt.

But all in all .. a 18 hour drive each way for a weekend is a bit too much for me lol. Gonna have to wait till I have some actual vacation time for my next visit.
