Mexican birds – esp. for Paul ;-)

Sifting through my older bird photos (late 2006), and decided to post a few of the better ones here. I'm 100% sure of they're identity. Can you ID them too, Paul? :ihih: (All other PR members welcome too, of course. But if you can ID them – no hinting to others, OK?) Ranges of these birds extend into the USA.

I'll check back later for replies and might also add some more shots.

Beautiful Thanks for sharing! The cactus bird is my favourite, what a setting (and I have NO idea whatsoever to the ID - even though I did get my first bird book for Christmas this evening ).

I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas Thank you so very much for all your help these past months

    Warm regards,
    Mette

The curved-billed thrasher was ID'd by the curved bill, eye color and overall coloring. Thrashers and thrushes are tough at times!

Yes they are, I often had a hard time distinguishing the curve-billed from juvenile american robins and also from brown thrashers. If I can get a good look at one, then it's easier. But not when the bird is "skulking" under scrubby bushes.
