Mergansers Feeding

Not the best shots, they had a feeding frenzy right by the dike, diving and coming up with these fish.

Looks like they found a school of alewives.

I know we had alewives in Lake Michigan.

I think they're here during migration and they breed farther north. This bunch has been around a couple of weeks though.

They are indeed heading north. It's been unseasonably warm here on the east coast for about 3 - 4 weeks
