    The little Egret and Sandpipers

The sun was out today, well on and off, so off down to the river for a long walk with the dogs and camera, the little Egret was about, along with the Buntings and skylarks and on the way back i caught a flock of Common Sandpipers leaving with the tide, all were at quite a distance so the 100-400 was wide open, but i felt re-fuelled as i felt spring in the air.

Alas, the manual focus was tried, but i cheated and reverted back to AV! but i will be back practising that tomorrow. Promise.

That last one is excellent! I love how you included the bank. The amount of panning blur is perfect IMO.

Love the black stocking legs and bright yellow feet.

Bev - was that last one autofocus? Wow. Great shot.

Well, they're all great, but I really like that one.

All are nice images, but I too think the last is the strongest.

Re: The little Egret and Sandpipers

Thanks everyone for comments, very kind, Obie, yes, AF, i use AV setting and the SSpeed was set at 1/320, f11, -ISO200 @370mm. These flocks of sandpipers are quite cunning, when they see you lift the camera, they swerve and fly low on the opposite side of the bank, probably think its a gun!
