Last GBH for 2008

This will probably be my last GBH for 2008 , they are getting scarce to find now that the cold north west winds are starting to be a every day thing here.was lucky with this one he let me get in closer than i would usually. Hope you like him

Thanks for looking Tufcat, Serenity it truly was not a warm day but i have seen these guys in water with ice all around them ,they are one tough bird. Franciax i used a D80 with a 170-500mm that i just bought off of Ebay , i figure i was able to crawl to about 40 feet from the GBH.( a la Canon Bob lol ) i even broke my sun glasses lol ah but it was worth it

Don't count them out just yet because I see them in 18" of snow in the winter if open water is around.

He looks really miserable. I like #2 too - his coat tail is getting wet.

Thanks guys it would be a awesome capture to get a picture of one with snow , guess i will have to be on the look out for one in the coming weeks ahead Come to think of it i have one from last spring some were . I will have to dig it up

Found it , but its a in flight lol but you can see the snow and ice just the same Tough Bird hehe !

I have yet to get a respectable shot of one of these. I'm lucky to get within 400 feet, let alone 40. Super sweet shots.
