    Re: Large birds in flight.

Nice shot of the GB Heron. Wish the near wing wasn't end-on since the other one isn't. But nice job tracking/panning - especially if it was with your 1.4x TC as well.

I like your large flock shot (#3 as well). Can you darken it a bit to bring out more detail of the individual birds?

    Thanks Loupey,

Here is the swan picture darkened, hopefully not too much. And, some more of the heron (including the first one again) worked a little more while P/P.

edit- oh yeah, it was with the 1.4X TC, I kind of wish I had bought the 2X TC now.

    Re: Large birds in flight.

the "swan image" is actually a flock of snow geese Notice that you have a few blue morph snow geese in there too. Your tundra swans are definately migrating to the coast, but they may stay there if food/ weather conditions are favorable(though very unlikely)

I like your second set of images much better. The flock is not too dark. And I think the subject size is just about right - not too small so you can still see/identify the birds and not so large that you cannot see the group. Just wish there was some reference to the ground to give it an anchor.

    Keep shooting!
