Kereru

A couple of shots of one of our native wood pigeon the Kereru This character seemed quite happy to stay on this branch and would not shift to a thinner one, no matter how nicely I asked him . These guys are probably twice the size of your normal city pigeon.

Don't you hate it when they won't cooperate? Much more colorful than than the pigeons in my area. Thanks for sharing them.

Thanks guys this was one of four that I spotted on this trip but the only one low enough for the lenses I have. Made a total hash of what might have been a great BIF shot....
