    Juvenile Bald Eagle....snack time

Seems this years Juvenile Eagles are staying around longer than last years. Not sure if he caught the fish himself, he was already in the tree when i pulled up.

Nice images Eric - thanks for sharing. You know the next time I come to Florida, I am going to have to give you a shout and find out how you manage to get such nice sharp images of these guys. You seem to know where all the good ones are - birds that is.

    Cheers,

    WesternGuy.

I would think they would stick around for a month or so. Do the eagles double clutch in your area? If so, the parents would chase them away I would think .

Unless it is a professional secret, would you folks mind telling us what lens was used and how close to the subject those beautiful photos were taken.

    Re: Juvenile Bald Eagle....snack time

I actually took mine with a point and shoot camera. Mine were taken with a Panasonic FZ-50, but I was close, within 15 yards or so.

From my experiences (grant it I am just a beginner at this photography stuff) the best photos I have taken have all been taken from close range. I think it is better to be close with a relatively cheap camera than have an expensive set up and take photos from a great distance. But the best photos are taken with good gear from close distances.

Although this photo is not of an eagle, it was taken last week, from a close distance, with my Olympus E-5 and my 50-200 Zukio lens from a close distance. I think if you want great photos of birds or wildlife, you have to learn how to get close.

    Thanks BB.
Will have to work on getting close. Like someone said, it's not always the camera.
