    Juvenile Bald Eagle

Captured this guy at the African Lion Safari Birds of Prey show... yeah I know it's cheating to capture wildlife at a game preserve but it's tstill nature.

That's a great capture , but you need to watch your background .

BTW.... That eagle is a 2nd year bird meaning it was born in the spring of 05

Neat to see such an unusual/atypical posture like that! It would have been icing on the cake to get it a split second later when the talons were outstretched.

But, I'm guessing that this was a one-shot capture - so you did great getting it in the frame. I too use one-shot captures as my 10D is hopelessly slow to use in continuous shooting mode.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Re: Juvenile Bald Eagle

    Thanx guys.

Loupey - Yeah it was a one shot capture. It was his third landing and I was trying to ge tthe talons extended but I was a fraction of a second early. The oly E-500 has a hopelessly slow burst mode as well so I tend to try things I can make a few attempts at. This one was a challenge but I like my end result

Paulnj - I agree about the background. I thought about cloning out the people or cutting out a section of fence and pasting it over them but since it WAS at a show about the birds I thought that just maybe leaving the people in would emphasize that these birs are in captivity.
