    Jesters of the bird world?

    Killdeer are still one of my favorites. Everytime I see them I have to chuckle.

    I actually perfer the first, due to seeing very few if any, photos of the frontal view of this bird. However, they are both good shots.

    2nd vote for the first image. Both are awesome though, great colours and shallow DOF.

    lol gotrocks!

    Mike... I can get more of the front easily. These shots were taken 10 feet from where I park my car by the guard house. There must be a nest not too far away because they are always hanging around me there. Front, back, you name it and I could snap it. LOL

    Alex... does the head look out of focus to you in the first shot? Something about it bugs me. I do like the frontal shot better, but the side view just has sharper detail to me.

    Yes, I agree with you about the head being slightly OOF. Not a huge deal... Just a smidget---but the shooting angle / pose really wins this shot. :thumbsup:

    The second one would've been even better if the head was angled slightly toward the camera.
