It's still macro season for me!

more bugs, same location. Went looking for hoverflies in flight, but they were neither abundant nor flying. The dragons were all busy making more dragons, so I turned my eye towards whatever else I could find. I hate going in with no sense of purpose, it took me about 40 minutes to really get going. In any case, here are a few that came out well.

A japanese beetle that might have been better with another half an F/stop.

the world's prettiest fly - I'm going back for more shots of these, they were ubiquitous but I didn't realize how photogenic they were until I got home and reviewed the pics. All of the really good poses were slightly out of focus - the wind was pretty rough to deal with when the depth of field is less than an inch!

and the world's ugliest bug. Hands down winner.
