    A Long Cold Hike

OK, so it wasn't really long nor very cold this morning. But I finally got out for some shootin'.

You'll have to excuse me if the colors/saturation/contrast look off. The wife made a lovely salmon dinner, I had a few too many glasses of wine, and the fire is going in the fieplace - leaving me loopey in the dark trying to process the images

    Good night!

Oh, that rather poor shot of the Eastern Blue Birds is included because this is the earliest that I've ever seen them in my area. Very tough to get close! I stalked them for a long time, they would tease me and all take off with no hint where they went.

Good series Loupey. I can't wait to get out and do some shootin'.

We have had some awful weather these past few weeks, loads of rain, so a lot of places around my part of the world are flooded, where I go walking to take wildlife.

Never mind, good things come to those who wait

Great as always, Loupey, I really liked the prints going one way and the leaf facing the other way.

    Thanks for looking, everyone!

I've never seen that many bluebirds at one time. The males were nearly glowing in blue as they flew through the drab trees. Beautiful but shy.

The raccoon tracks were by the steam and were going every which way. It took a minute to find the right pair that I could isolate to photograph. The leaf was not touched in any way. I did have to crawl under a rather troublesome low branch and lift it up with my head and back though

    Re: A Long Cold Hike

AgingEyes - thanks for looking. It wasn't terribly cold that morning. It started out in the low to mid 20's and warmed to the high 20's by the time I left. The ice was building but started to stabilize in the direct sunlight. I was standing in ankle high water for about 1 1/2 hours so it was pretty cold despite the waterproof boots and two pairs of heavy duty socks
