    Improved hummingbird shots

I saw my little hummer alot last weekend and got some better pics, the best i have so far i think. She(I believe its a she) sat on a branch of a butterfly bush for the longest time, I moved closer and closer to her and she didn't even take notice of me.
At one point I was walking across the yard, turned around, and saw it fly right towards me and it hovered in front of me for a few seconds, then took off. Hummingbirds are cool.

Very nice. Hard to pick a favorite here but I think I'm going with #4 because of the unusal angle. Thanks for sharing once again.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Great shots and good story, Quetzal. Sounds like you had a great time with them.

Great timing too, I got back last night from shooting H-birds (after taking a break from them for about a week and a half) and saw that you posted "close encounter" pixs. Unfortunately for my subjects, the stalking method didn't work. Standing still for 2 hours did

Before this year, I've never even seen one before (or looked for them). Since coming to this site, I've now planned my schedule around H-birds and other non-insect critters Yes, they are fun to shoot and be around.

I think #2 is the best. Whiler flight images are nice, I see far too many of them and they lose the wow factor after awhile(like over played songs)

Thank you everyone for looking and complimenting.
I probably have more shots right now of this bird sitting still than actually in flight. Especially since I took these pics, I've never seen a hummer sit still for so long!
