    Images from the mudhole.

You don't want to know what I crawled through, and laid for over 2 hours in to shoot these images - LOL
    Enjoy:

it sure as heck was worth it!

those backgrounds are phenominal, as well as your usual great work on the birds themselves.

Amazing as always. Were the first and last shots taken of different birds on the same rock?

It is the same spot (it really wasn't a rock, but more a pile of firm mud). I crawled in through over 12 inches of soupy mud, and then laid on a tarp that I spread out for about 2 hours. The birds literally came to me. They were very curious about what the heck was laying motionless in the mud. These images were captured in the center of a drying up lake. There were only a few large water holes left, and they are teeming with birds and fish. Excellent photo-ops for the ones willing to get REALLY dirty. There was not way to drive in anywhere near where I set up. FWIW, most of these images are nearly full frame. Hence, the really nice detail and good bokeh on the BG.

BTW - The lake will re-fill during the rainy season, which should start any time now.

    Thanks for the comments all!
