    id?

    i took these on labor day, and just found them again. it was absolutely HUGE. but i;m nto sure what kind. i have a few other angles of it to.

    .......you held that thing...in your hand?.........i would not have been able to do that myself, i love bugs, and im not afraid of them...they surprise me sometimes. but im not afraid....but still....i wouldnt have been able to hold it.. (only limited to catapillars and dragonflys)

    yeah, it wasn't moving at all, and i knocked it off the stick so i had to coax it back on. it was pretty sclerotixed to, it wasn;t very soft like most fuzzt caterpillers are.

    Oh my! That IS huge! And I thought the black fuzzy we found at the football game was big lol He is awesome! I am certainly interested to know what it is. My brother says there is a moth that is really big.. perhaps that.

    It's an imperial moth caterpillar

    Color can vary from reddish-brown to light green, and grows to about 5" long.

    ummm, why is the catterpillar next to a bowl of soup? just a thought but....wouldtnt that be kind of disgusting?

    Yep, looks like it's going to be a big moth.
    It's the size of a hawk moth caterpillar, but from the hair I don't think it's one of those.
