I love me some snowy owls. I saw one a few years ago, it may have been 2007, but didn't get any good photos. They are around again this year, but I haven't had any luck finding one. I heard last night that one was spotted at a place I go to quite often and is only a few miles from my house. I'm hoping to get out there this weekend and see if I can find it.
"I thought that because fewer wolves meant more deer, that no wolves would mean hunters' paradise. But after seeing the green fire die, I sensed that neither the wolf nor the mountain agreed with such a view."

Gorgeous shots, AgingEyes! #2 and #5 are my favorites. Someone told me that the females have more of the dark barring and the ones that are all white or mostly white are males. So these are probably all females. #3 is funny -- almost a human looking face in a way. I've heard a few Snowy Owls have been spotted on Vancouver Island since that horrific storm they had in Alaska three or four weeks ago. I would sure love to see one!
Holy buckets. I am so envious. I've never seen a pic of a bunch at a time. Hopefully, when mjs1973 and I meet up later this winter, we'll be able to find one or two. Great shots.

Thanks for the info about the owls and there're about 20 of them scattered around.
It sounds like we'll have to go farther north than we thought. :wink5:
