    Hunting wolf

Earlier today i saw what i thought, at first glance, was 2 elk running towards the road. Then i noticed that it was a wolf chasing the elk. We quickly pulled over and watched as they approached the road, the wolf was leery and slowed down, the elk too advantage and stopped on the road. after a short breather the elk took off in to the woods on the opposite side. Shortly after the wolf took the long way around the cars and across thee road in chase.

wolf jumping to see over sage and spot the elk again

wolf taking off parallel to the road to get past the cars and then after the elk

Beautiful pictures. I especially like the 3rd (wolf in grass looking left) and the 5th (wolf running, partly hidden). I'm hoping to photograph one someday. I just saw my first one on a mountain road in the middle of the night a couple weeks ago. Not a lot of them here in Washington.

I'm envious of the wolf shots. We have them in the northern part of our state, but living in the deep south of MN, I doubt I'll ever be fortunate to witness anything this exciting. Very nice.

    Hi Dylan8i,
Great pictures of wolf and elk.
Where did you took these pictures and don't you have some barriers for safety of these animals? They might get hit by some vehicle.
