    Hunting peregrine

I was lucky enough to watch this peregrine hunting on Friday morning in hayden valley. I pulled over for a bear jam (which had some great bear shot opportunities) and found my coworkers/pro photographers so i was talking with them when the peregrine buzzed the line of photographers shooting the bear and hit a bird 10 feet in front of them (i don't think any even saw it happen). The peregrine then flew around a few times trying to grab the dead bird out of the water. Luckily the bear left and then there were just 4 of us watching the peregrine hunting for about 2 hours. it never grabbed the first swallow, but it did get another one our of mid air. and all of this was right in front of us.

dead swallow in water and peregrine reflection as it passed over.
