    Hunting the Hunter II

I also got this. The meal was a mouse (half gone) this time.

Image quality may look a little off - this image is a rather severe crop even after shooting it with a 600mm. The softness across its butt is a foreground branch that I didn't see. Only a one shot opportunity

He probably is. It's just a trained "free flight" pet. Still, I love these birds, so I don't mind seeing it at all, they get better each time.

    LOL guys!

I tease my daughter all the time about letting me tie a string around the foot of her beloved dwarf hamster so that I can let it run circles to see if the hawks take notice.

Ok, so I was serious when I asked her the first time

I agree, I can look at these birds all the time, these kestrels are so pretty.

You sure are lucky having these and the Hawks so regular in your area.

    Re: Hunting the Hunter II

thanks, Bev and S-D. I used to think that we didn't have any interesting birds here. Now I feel fortunate.

Here are a few from yesterday. One female with her catch. I followed on foot as she flew from tree to tree (4 total) as I tried to keep up. She definitely did NOT want me anywhere NEAR her and her treasure. These are all very agressive crops just for illustration purposes.

    thanks again, everyone!
