    The photo above is a doe (female pronghorn antelope). All mature bucks have horns and some does have horns, but theirs are smaller and less developed. The main way you can tell the difference between a doe and a buck, is that all bucks have a black cheek patch as shown in the photo below. Even the very young can usually be identified by their black, cheek patch. Does do not have that.

    Here are few other examples of does or young bucks.

    These are twin fawns of the year and they are both does.


    Notice the little fawn on the far right of the photo and notice his cheek patch starting to darken.


    Notice this little buck, and his cheek patch.


    Notice in this photo, the buck in the rear with larger horns and a black cheek patch and the doe in the front with small horns and no cheek patch.
