    Hooters and others... 5+ photos...

I visited a local animal rescue event today. these are some of the creatures we got to see. It is a real shame about the Eagle, but it makes it no less magnificent.

    Wow some awesome images.

I have never seen a deformity of the beak so grossly out of whack like that. I used to work in a Vet clinic that specialized in exotic species (we even did a de-claw on a lion for the zoo to prevent it from injuring itself, the other lions, and the zookeepers) and I have seen some very disturbing deformities on animals. It never ceases to amaze me however that the animal still stands proud regardless of the fact that without human intervention it may never have survived at all.

Some wonderful shots here Payn817, especially love the owls, iv been working voluntary at a falconry centre (most birds rescued), walking birds out on the hand etc, so that they have lots of time away from their cages/thethers, im a one for uncaged "anything" in reality, but i feel that doing this work a couple of times a week gives them a better chance of more stimulaton, and with this time with them i have come to admire and respect these magnificent birds even more.

Nice series, Payn! Glad to see you're already out of the starting blocks with your new macro.

The 400mm & 105mm should no doubt be a great pair out in the field. Looking forward to more of your shots

Thanks for all the kind words.

Loupey, yeah I had to give the macro a shot. It's different, and there'll be a little learning curve after getting use to a 1:4. However, all the tips I have received here are making it easier. I just gotta get use to DOF at 1:1.

    Again, thanks everyone!
