    Highways

My mom gives me a subscription to Arizona Highways magazine each year. While I haven't been a huge fan of recent editorial changes and think that the overall photographic quality had dropped somewhat in recent years, the December 2005 issue has some fabulous shots and interesting articles. Rather than using their normal method of getting stories they asked their photographers and writers to submit material the personally special to them to produce a special holiday issue. It worked IMHO. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Well, I have never heard of this rag before, but from what I saw the images are beautiful. Very well done. I wish someone would give me a subscription.... ;)

I'm too cheap for that Almo, but I could send you a few back issues.

    Re: Highways

I have never read Arizona Highways, but have heard really good things about it. In fact, this summer, Amy and I stayed in a little cabin in Michigans UP, and the owner of the place was telling us a story about one of A.H.'s photogs that he knew, or met, or something like that. An older woman, in her 60's or 70's that spent tons of time in the Grand Canyon taking photos and finding all the great spots that very few people ever get to see. I will have to pick up an issue one of these days.

    Arizona Highways magazine

I remember reading that when I was in Arizona. October 1985 to September 1986. Loved every minute of it.

    Re: Arizona Highways magazine

I was at Barns and Nobel yesterday and picked up my first ever copy of Arizona Highways. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. The photos look great in it!!!

    Re: Highways

    Chunk,

I just got a subscription to this for Christmas I bought the December issue you mentioned it is fantastic. I have only seen back issues on coffee tables since I got to Phoenix but from what I have seen it is an incredible magazine. Well worth taking a look if anyone's at all interested in landscapes. My favorite back issue is the "Find your state in Arizona" one where they took shots from all around Arizona that resembled every other state in the Union. Incredibly, they pulled it off. Such amazing country out here, I don't know why everyone doesn't live here

    Enjoy your subsrciption!

Glad you like that issue Rick. I'll probably be out there just as soon as I get my house fixed up and sold. My Mom and brother live up in Lake havasu City now.
