    Heron rookery

I located a heron rookery, not too far from here, and what an awesome experience. Being near the rookery makes you feel like your living during the prehistoric times. All you hear in the woods is the grunting of these large birds. They fly back and forth from their nests, and it's cool just watching them. Anyway, I spent about 1/2 hour there yesterday morning and maybe close to 3/4 hour this morning.

Very cool mike, I'm sure that was some experience. How many herons are nesting there do you think ?

Isn't it awesome? They are so large they look like they are moving in slow motion. I got a few from last Sunday to post yet. They are amazing creatures and you got some great captures!
