    Shot with Pentax K20D and Sigma 500 F/4.5

    I don't know anything about the 500mm Sigma. What is the closest focusing distance? How does it handle?

    I was about 4 feet from the gull.

    Sorry, I meant 4 yards. I bought it a few months back but have not used it much. It is big and heavy and requires a mono pod, although that shot was taken hand held.
