    Here Kitty, Kitty....NOT!!

Imagine, walking outside to do some gardening. You look up and see this nice kitty staring down at you from the roof of your neighbors home. Then, you realize...that's not a kitty cat!!! What do you think???

Nice find, Ken. Definitely not something you see everyday.

Looks like he's been there a while with the bedding there. Is he a "regular"?

    Re: Here Kitty, Kitty....NOT!!

Thanx all, Yes it is a fox, but not sure if it's a red fox with it's winter coat or a gray fox. But I'm not up on foxes. As far as I've been able to find out from the Humane Society, right now in the area, foxes have become a big problem. I haven't seen him for 2 days now, but yesterday, they set a trap for him.
The neighbor lady is about 85 years old and has said she has heard them for a while. She said it sounds like their are 2 of them romping around on her roof at night.
The second shot above is out my bedroom window about 10 ft away and the first one was from the corner of my house about 15 foot away. That's the closest I've been to a wild fox. He just laid there occasionally watching us, but definitely not worried about us too much...hehe
We had a lull in the snow/ice storms and he was taking full advantage of the sun that day...hehe...I was like him and out enjoying the warm (39degree) weather...hehehehehe

Ken, that's a grey fox and I find it wrong to trap a fox and relocate it. They are harmless in my opinion and won't bother people unless provoked.

What a super find! and a grey. I agree with Paulnj, relocating more often doesnt work, the fox is a very territorial animal and will more likely get into fights with resident foxes ending in grief alot of the time.

More great photo ops lost forever. If only his presence was kept a secret. He was a beauty.Such a candid rare setting. I hope he got away, has found a rooftop with less traffic.

    Re: Here Kitty, Kitty....NOT!!

Hello all...I agree, it's really sad to have to trap and move it, but in this area, we are very near to an elementary school, the roof is the home of a very old lady, who lives alone and we have a lot of old people in the neighborhood, most probably wouldn't mind it being around. Our only fear would be if it were to attack a young child, or jump down onto one of the old people and cause them to fall or give them a heart attack.
But...good news for now...it seems to have out-foxed the trap and has moved elsewhere. I keep an eye out for it and will get more shots if possible.
