Gulls make such nice subjects!! I've noticed that on really windy days at the beach, the gulls will spend alot of time hovering . I've found it a good way to practice my in flight shots.

Nice work Roger, it certainly takes time to get everything together, ie settings, panning etc so you have certainly done well here.

big baldo, Knight, and Bev, Thanks to you all for commenting

I was looking at some that were a little blurred and suddenly noticed that they all have an upward blur motion - Standing on the deck of the boat may not be such a good platform after all

Still some way to go before I get anywhere near your standard, but what's life without goals.

    Nice progress, Roger.

Keep the faith - remember, not only are you learning a new technique/subject matter, but you're also learning you new equipment. So you've got a lot on your plate!

Just takes practice. I'm looking forward to seeing your progression here

    Thanks Loupey,

As for learning new equipment; Mistakes so far

    Forgetting to reset the ISO
AI Servo doesn't give a satisfying beeb when in focus.
Lens left in manual when wanted in auto
    Focusing lens when in auto
IS off when it should be on
IS mode set to wrong setting
    And many others. :mad2:

    Getting there too slowly :cryin:
