    Grounded by the Storm

Been working on my macros lately but I came across this juvie RTH low in a tree. It was about to rain so I figured he was taking shelter. I approached by foot and shot along the way. This shot was from about 75' away as he gave me this owl-like pose.

Was able to approach to about 50' before he finally took off.

Then I got dumped on by the storm on my way back to the car.

Just gorgeous, Loupey. Love how he's framed by the branches.

Nicely composed. I can never figure out how to shoot them as anything other than centered. - Terry

Cara & Terry - thanks for commenting.

This branch has a lot of character and I'm sure I wouldn't have been attracted to the RTH (come on, it's a RTH ) if it were not for that branch.

Here's a shot when I first started the approach. More horizontal at this distance so I used the background to help better isolate the bird.

    I do like the raptors.
Both of these are great but I prefer the second.
Look like he/she was scratching and the foot is a blur in the first.
